I suspected this was going to be the outcome and the proposal was put forth to "test the waters". 32-bit isn't going anywhere at least for a few more years. Hell I got Arca Noae running 16-bit apps.

I could foresee a future where they religate all the 32-bit shit into a seperate repo that is community maintained. They already do that for non-free.
