Flawed behaviour
MTP (media transfer protocol) is deprecated trash.
MTP is unstable, slow (occasionally needs more time counting files than actually transferring the data while mass storage starts transferring immediately), supports no parallelism at all (e.g. unable to browse while file action performed).
The purpose of MTP was originally safely providing a computer high-level file access without direct file system access so the portable device and computer could access it simultaneously.
But MTP has always been bogus and unreliable.
I can't believe MTP has not been substituted yet.
