Some older devices did not save the slow motion video with the same real-time recording framerate, and with muted audio.

Example: A 10-second 120fps video saved as 40-second 30fps video.

Such a video has the following problems:

  • Less versatile: Can't simply be treated vby video playback and editing software as both normal and slow motion video, because of the missing audio and because the indicated playback speed does not match the real-life speed.

The correct method is the real-time method that treats the slow motion video like a normal video, by encoding it using the original recording framerate of the image sensor and with audio.

Mobile phones that use the real-time method are usually equipped with precluded software to adjust the playback speed and allow exporting slow motion videos with custom playback speeds.
