One thing I find interesting is one of the Ten Commandments say to not draw anything from under the sea. Why not under the sea?

Gives credence to HP Lovecraft’s Old One’s because they tend to live under the sea.

Which Commandment is that?

You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth

What’s interesting is how perverted this particular commandment is often. Simple google search for the Ten Commandments won’t show this commandment in full form.

Which translation is that quote from?

For reference here's Deuteronomy 5 from the Douay-Rheims edition I've been using (mostly). Note verse 8. I'm still curious to know which translation your quote is from.

Why would Christians bury their dead in the earth if it puts them closer to hell?

All the adults hated when I asked that question at indoctrination (the church's school for children).

Must be one of them radicals

Because dead bodies stink and spread disease. We bury them to preserve the physical remains as well as we can as a sign of faith in the eventual resurrection of our bodies when Christ returns.

Because dead bodies stink and spread disease.

Good point, but there are other ways of dealing with the problems of decomposing bodies.

Yes, there are other ways. This is the way that signifies faith in the resurrection. That is like saying that there is other food and drink besides bread and wine. Yes, there is, but bread and wine is the food and drink that signifies Christ's sacrifice.

Some would, some wouldn't. Christians can have any culture on Earth, and each culture has it's own ways. I don't even know what the teachings are on the subject in any particular denomination. As for me, I like the whimsical idea of my body being consumed by wild animals somewhere in the woods.

As far as I know, "closer to hell" is meaningless for Christians. God is meaning.
