Christianity is, by its nature, extremism. It’s a total lack of tolerance for sin in oneself, and a perennial and complete humility built on the foundation of the fact of our heritage of sin.

It also demands a stark contrast to Babylon, the world system, speaking out against it as John the Baptizer did with Herod, as did Jesus and later Paul with the Sanhedrin and other judaistic rulers.

We must embrace thrift while the world embraces spending. We must engage in sobriety and chastity as the world indulges in excesses. We must surrender to our own futility in light of God’s greatness while the world boisterously and vainly celebrates its own accomplishments. We must seek to serve our God, our family, our tribe, and our nation, in that order, while the world tells us to serve only ourselves and the global government whose rulers do likewise.

So, she’s right. And God be praised for it.
