Wrote a similar point up on reddit, days ago, cited all sources, showed them where they can track, live, hospital bed and ICU bed capacity all over the US which directly proves this story false.
Got downvoted a lot and one of the mods perma-banned from the sub for "disinformation." I confronted the mod in DMs and asked them to quote the exact portion of my post that was disinformation and asked them to provide a credible citation.
They didn't do shit. They said I didn't have a peer reviewed study (lmao!) on live hospital bed data the government was providing. Then they threatened to report me to the admins. Joke's on them: I reported the subreddit and the mod already to the admins for supporting disinformation that could result in someone dying because they think no hospitals have capacity. The admins did nothing (SHOCKER!).
This should be reported to the press, really. Making people think all the hospitals are full really could result in a person not seeking help because they don't think it is available and then they die.
Do you still have the write up
Do you still have the write up
Yup, I sure as hell do:
Below are the most relevant parts:
Why are we falling apart now at those numbers when it was much higher last year and we had 4000 dying a day?
And why do most hospitals have lots of vacancy but some are overwhelmed? Why don’t they have some folks go to other hospitals that are practically empty.
To me, this feels like a logistical mess. They need a group to coordinate healthcare, regionally, so we don’t end up in scenarios like this.
And why did the original dude travel to so many hospitals? That makes no sense. Take NYC for example. One hospital in Brooklyn is full. The one two blocks away is rather empty. So just skip one and go to the other. Right?
Edit - Why do these questions offend some folks? Most of you are respectfully responding with your reasoning behind the disconnect. COVID-19 makes up about 12% occupancy in our hospitals, at the moment. And the super full and practically empty hospital situation is legit.
For example, my NYC example:
NYC: Kingsbrook is empty. Kings County has 393/519 occupied. Suny Health (about 2 blocks away from Kings County and a 6 min walk) has 149/274 occupied.
Check it out yourself. You’ll see multiple hospitals in an area. One will be heavily laden, and ones around it are moderate to lightly occupied.

Edit 2 - Mod banned me for disinformation and then demanded I link peer reviewed data for live - hospital ICU bed data (the link above). I asked that mod for peer reviewed data on the 43 hospitals written in the obituary since my data comes straight from the government (hhs).
This mod also threatened to report me to the admins for COVID-19 disinformation.
And here the post still stands, no mod tag stating the “43 hospitals” thing is misleading and we have live government supplied data for hospital vacancy.
...
It’s NYC, as well.
Kingsbrook is empty.
Kings County has 393/519 occupied.
Suny Health (about 2 blocks away from Kings County and a 6 min walk) has 149/274 occupied.
