I'll tell you why reddit turned into such a shitshow, it got taken over by corporate/political interests, however the people running the site are pushover pussies that are doing everything at their whims without being honest to the userbase about it.

Putting words into user's mouths, which means making them appear like they wrote something they never actually did, especially on sensitive posts, is one of the greatest violations of user trust possible.
