You raise some valid points, however there are a few vital differences.

1) If Aimee was hired at Reddit based on BFOQ unrelated to the pedo-loving (literally) past, then I'd buy the argument of not blaming the business. e.g. if Aimee was a skilled chef, hiring Aimee to run the company cafeteria wouldn't lead me to accuse Reddit the company of support pedophilia. I can't see how being a failed politician is a BFOQ for moderating a website.

2) Reddit actively deleted content mentioning the public figure Aimee Challenor from its website and banned users for posting news articles about said public figure. Reddit also edited comments discussing this. There is a distinct difference between hiring someone with a horrifying background and actively censoring discussion of that background. It's the difference between a phone company hiring OJ Simpson to work in a call center, and a phone company listening in on your calls and firing you as a customer if you mention OJ Simpson. The former is paying someone to do an innocuous job, the latter is actively defending their evil behavior.

3) Reddit hired Aimee specifically to assist with moderating subreddits targeted at minors. While I can see a hypothetical argument for providing a second chance to someone in a low risk manner (e.g. the previously mentioned chef isn't running a daycare), you don't put the fox in charge of the hen house unless you support the freaking fox eating chickens. Case in point, Aimee's father raped children in their shared house...and then Aimee hired the guy. Then Aimee's husband publicly posted fantasies about kidnapping and raping children, which Aimee defended. Then...this is Aimee: https://conspiracies.win/p/12i3l9cLq5/a-literal-reddit-admin--enjoy-th/c/. It doesn't exactly take a rocket scientist that Aimee knew what was going on, supported it, and that Reddit Inc would have to be deaf dumb and blind to not know exactly whom they were hiring to put in charge of moderating minor-focused subreddits.

4) I might buy Aimee making seriously questionable choices as a one-off, but see point #3. It's a pattern of either malicious behavior or such poor judgement they shouldn't be put in charge of a freaking wheelbarrow. If your spouse fantasizes about kidnapping and raping Tiger Woods, you don't defend them, and you certainly don't show up to bed in blackface with a set of golf clubs to encourage that behavior.
