More importantly, why do they have materialistic goods produced by capitalism in the first place? Shouldn't they be shunning such things that are produced by wage slave labor and sold at prices that enrich corporations while draining the proletariat of their resources? They should only have communal laptops and tents and not use money at all. They're doing communism wrong.
