These people never took a flu shot, went out when they were sick, visited when they were sick and never cared. I know people who wouldn’t get the flu shot because they may feel bad for a day and it didn’t stop spread most years.
But at least it had safety studies, their whole flu shot argument is a lie as they get jabbed by the unknown.
And it wasn’t just the elderly with the flu some years it hit kids hard.
I recall obama was in office and the kids were dying(a few, not a ton) and being hospitalized and and the black kids were dying at a slightly higher rate here. We have a 2% black population but it seems like a 90% hispanic. Anyway obama sent the cdc, fda and a civil rights team to Oregon to make sure the little negros we’re getting the same care as the white kids.
Did all these people rush out and get a flu shot shot? Nope.
Since my mother is 80 and I have an immunocompromised relative that stays with us a few days a week, during flu season we curtail going out for fun. That’s our prerogative, we don’t make others cater to us or ask that the country be shut down, everyone get a flu shot and wear masks.
We did the same thing when my dad was having chemo, we stayed away from crowds on our own accord.
That’s what freedom is, your freedom doesn’t end because of my concerns. We now have this new narrative of a “societal duty” and individual rights no longer matter. It’s stupid and not anything the country is supposed to be about.

This right here is what people should be doing - assessing their own level of risk and taking precautions (or lack thereof) accordingly, not demanding everyone else do the same thing. I don't need "daddy government" to decide for me what I can and can't do.
