Wagie needs to learn the law:

1910.36(d)(1) Employees must be able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times without keys, tools, or special knowledge. A device such as a panic bar that locks only from the outside is permitted on exit discharge doors.

This is the kind of thing civil lawyers salivate over. "My client was fired for reporting an OSHA violation (and likely violation of a municipal fire ordinance) to the Fire Department. Terminating an OSHA whistleblower is explicitly prohibited by law. I motion for summary judgement in favor of the plaintiff."

I think just the threat of termination in this scenario would be enough to sue these fuckers blind.

One thing is for certain- that manager is out of a job, and hilariously will probably end up working a similar wage-slave position to the victim in this case! No company would hire this man on as a manager responsible for anybody after this obscene treatment of an employee, and an absolute disregard for OSHA.

I wonder how young the victim was. They seem kind of stupid- like he/she is really concerned about being fired from a job where their manager is fine with fucking leaving them locked in the store overnight. They claim a diagnosis of an anxiety condition- this indicates that they're over 18 years old. The writing style seems feminine, and this kind of situation and lack of decisiveness/fear of consequences is much more womanly, so I'd guess the victim is a woman in her early 20s. And she'll never have to work another day in her life if she presses this issue legally.
