Hey Poal, I'm guessing most of you already know, but Ruqqus is basically on it's death bed.

The admins managed to alienate nearly all of their userbase on Ruqqus whether it be neglience or abuse.

We even organized a rather that was a giant "fuck you" to the admins and even made it to the trending page. However, they just crushed our site-wide protest with an upgraded spam filter. It was like the Tienanmen Square of Ruqqus.

I don't even recognize Ruqqus as the platform it was only a month ago. Everything changed in my perspective once forced categories were introduced. Another Ruqqus user pointed out to me the site most likely went to shit once it got mainstream recognition in a CBS article for alternative media. At that point is when the admins starting caring about their brand image and tried to make Ruqqus more palatable for normies through censorship.

Mind you, Ruqqus was created under the premises of free-speech and and no censorship. It only devolved from it's original stance, into whatever abomination it is now. It's clear the admins don't care about free speech and are constantly hypocritical. I think part of it is due to the admins having an official Discord server for Ruqqus.

The Ruqqus Discord is full of what about what you would expect of Discord: trannies, lefties, fags, etc. But what most of the users shared in the Discord was a genuine hatred for the current Ruqqus and its userbase. These were people that are similar to AHS (against hate subs) members. They use a lot of the same tactics and practically mirror the AHS. They call themselves the Ruqqus Corrective Project (RCP).

The RCP is full of a bunch of lefty faggots, but since they have so much influence over the Discord they got their roots in the admins. It seems like the admins favor the RCP fags more than the actual userbase. Every new admin decision seems to be backed by the RCP. None of this should be realistically possible without the coordination on the platform Discord.

However, I think the RCP are merely accelarationists of what would inevitably happen to the site. The admins already proved themselves to be hypocritical pieces of shit that don't care about the userbase on Ruqqus. It's just that the RCP pushes a lot of demands and ideas that the admins implement. My reasoning is that the admins would eventually implement the ideas ruining the site anyways, just at a much slower pace without the RCP. All of the Ruqqus Discord and RCP contributed to the faster downfall of Ruqqus in my opinion. If it weren't for them, the site would most likely be decent for at least another year.

So after all the bullshit the RCP pushes, a lot of users on Ruqqus, the platform, are fed up and leaving. Prominently announced his leave of the platform, many will follow suit. I came here just in case a while ago, but it seems like it was inevitable. The Mass Exodus to Poal is in full effect and we'll most likely only see more users coming here from Ruqqus.

Ruqqus is just another free-speech site to fail to live up to its ideals and die. At least Voat died with dignity. Ruqqus was good once, it's a shame to see it die only after a year since it's creation.

I hope my account of the situation is useful. Hopefully, my post can redpill some of you to see the signs of a site in decay into censorship.

Prior to Voat's migration to Poal, Ruqqus was a much more active (allegedly) free speech alternative than Poal. Its true colours have been shown under duress.

It was advertised as a free-speech platform at the time I arrived. It was a decent reddit alternative with free-speech, that has since changed.

I left for a bit, traveled on Voat for a while, but Voat - love it or hate it, is a bit of a black pill. Ruqqus (at least a few months ago) was more like Poal - it had good news & good discussion, but was a little lighter. Also fewer Qtards and boomers.

I never liked voat because it was annoyingly locked down for a "free speech" site with fucking posting timers and locks on being able to downvote and bunches of other shit

When ruqqus launched it was unironically what I wanted voat to be, which was

  • a bit nicer looking than reddit

  • no restrictions of any kind

so I kept using it even though I knew it was a terminal patient because the admins had already made discord their only point of contact.

You suck in life and your words ended up being proven empty promises by your actions to get fame after a corrupt news network/media mentioned your website, we hope you enjoy living in your own ruined reddit alternative while slowly and surely, everyone who once used it and heard of it learn that it is now just a false free speech website. i think every platform is subject to the same thing - i think you reach a point where the community grows so large that funding becomes a problem and so you look outside the community and open yourself up to 'conditions'

voat was always the red-headed stepchild and though funding became a huge issue apparently, the founders never wavered from their founding philosophy far as i know (though they did seem to leave that door open)

hopefully poal will never grow that much and, though i don't know 'boobs' (PMYB2) well at all, he strikes me as someone who will stick to his guns and kill the site before he would allow anything like that to happen

I prefer the culling and recultivation. It reminds me of the darknet markets. When things grow too big, they become the perpetrator of the problems themselves. Free speech is still under attack. Unless you can speak "nigger/faggot/kike" in the open and only the person who reacts to it can be punished, free speech sites would have to remain small to stay under the radar.

Of course goats hate refugees (apart from white South African, of course). The thing is goats aren't refugees. We're more like a marauding horde which shifts to greener pastures once the place we are at becomes bereft of grass to eat.

In truth, I loved Voat (spent 5.7 years there), but it had grown boring and predictable the last couple years. I don't think I'd trade the current shitshow flowing across the internet for all the tea in China. It is fucking hilarious.
