Moderators can't exile (ban) users who haven't actually participated in the guild. And to put a hard cap on individual power, there is a strict limit of 10 Guilds moderated per person.

Instead of off-topic or unpopular content getting crushed by moderators, it is instead Kicked from the Guild to a specially coded catch-all Guild named +general. Likewise, content in +general can be Yanked to any other guild by a guildmaster that likes it (although the owner can undo this if they so choose).
Translated: Arguably our only redeeming feature on the whole site, we still somehow managed to fuck it up. Instead of just making yanking consensual like our userbase requested with guildmasters and posters agreeing to a yank, we decided to just let people yank whenever they want, even if it's targeted yanking and harassment by users brigading posts. We just said it's a "trial phase", then never readdressed it because we don't care.
In this way, we provide Guildmasters with the tools needed to curate the content in their communities, without also giving them the tools to censor dissenting opinions. Only the administrators can actually remove content for Terms of Service violations - and that shows up in the public mod logs too.
