I loved Voat and it affected how I saw things and what I believed, changed them a lot

but honestly, I was tired of getting a blank screen more often than not. I'm just glad it happened incrementally so today wasn't as hard as it could have been. Voat has been dying for a while

The code running it was complete dogshit. Putt mentioned in the summer I believe that hosting costs were ~$6,000/mo... I have no idea how it cost so much for something so poorly performing.

To be fair, and noting that I had only been a voat member for maybe two years, it was in decline the entire time I was reading it. Still good enough to visit and read, but with all of the down-time it had shed a lot of users and content.

At its prime I was getting news .5-2 days before any other outlets were carrying it. Plus all of the jew facts and 4chan meme scrapes.

Hopefully Poal can live up to that and surpass it.
