Faith is well placed in myself and we are in it for the long haul. We are 100% dedicated to making this place as great as we can.

Build the wall, you fucks

[–] 3 pts

why don't you do it?

Cause you own this motherfucker, not me

And you're off to a good start. You have the advantage of seeing their problems and can plan ahead, which I'm sure you will. I'm fairly sure both Atko had, and Putt still does, plans to make their contributions count also. Every day all the unfettered sites exist is a good thing. I appreciate Phuks for giving you the initial starting code and the impetus of Voat to create yet another online presence for people to have their say. I fully support your efforts and look forward to hearing most of what people have to offer where I have the right to decide what to read, not someone else. Keep up the good work.

No question I've had a lot of help. I appreciate all of it more than anyone who has helped will ever know. My job isn't to be the guy who makes the code or the guy who plans ahead my job is stand up and say free speech is a human right period and I'll fight for it no matter what. I do whatever that job requires me to do. I'll beg if I have too and I kind of already have to the guys at phuks when trying to build this place. I've spent countless hours on it hundreds of dollars to make it a reality. So it is and I am amazed at how many people already have come here and said that whey wanted. Its a great feeling knowing that this place exists and I was a part of making it happen.

Good for you

I tell my kids all the time: the political pendulum is dangerous at either end of the swing. Reddit goes to the extreme left. Voat has gone to the extreme right. Both sides are too far gone to see the cancer consuming them.

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

I'm more far right than most on voat and I can see the problem clearly

[–] 2 pts

I am too. And that's the issue. They cling to an label without thinking. It's similar to how anything against Trump is down voted to hell. I support Trump, but the dude is not perfect and has a lot that I dislike. But god forbid you voice that...

And then those who support him will come back and say Putt told us what was happening. No, he didn't ... he only told those who may have stumbled across a comment he made buried somewhere in pages of threads.

Yep. Blind allegiance doesn't have the fortitude to win the battle of "as free as possible" speech. Seeing only the problems keeps one from looking for solutions. I'm not one for looking at a voluntary free gift horse in the mouth. There's room for plenty of sites to exist.

[–] 2 pts

Yup. I'm diversified myself for reasons stated.

Double-talk damage control. He should really consider starting a career in politics.

I think he is trying, in good faith, to get the Vote democracy system he is designing to let the users have more control over the content and users/mods. Maybe it will work, we'll see. But I don't see how that addresses the system operations of Voat on a day to day basis. That will require delegation of not only the responsibilities, but also the credit. I give credit to Putt for his philosophical efforts and the time he has given to get the site to this point but I think the project has grown to a critical junction. He created an alternative to Eddit when there wasn't one and deserves a lot of thanks for that. Also, Poal probably wouldn't have been created without the stimulus created by his problems. Poal will have its own tests and problems in the future as there are no perfect solutions. I think it's best to have multiple sites that allow "as free as possible" speech and will appreciate that instead of looking only at faults.

Notice how the one voice of sanity is down voted for voicing a well stated opinion that's lost Voat so many users over the last months. And like you said, followed by Putt simply tossing out meaningless words he's spouted for as long as I can remember now. I get it, he's burned out. But that doesn't address why he refuses to allow good, trustworthy users who have volunteered to help to do so. That whole deal makes no sense whatsoever.

[–] 2 pts

I don't even care about the downvoats. I expected them for trying to question Lord Putty. Like I said before, I'd sell the Stinky account if there were still buyers

[–] 2 pts

Yeah I know, who gives a rats ass about down votes. That wasn't my point ... my point was if ya try to talk sanity, the sheep (goats) can't handle it.

[–] 3 pts

"I'm working on it" is always his fallback. I tried to get him to admit that he needs help, and he still refuses. It's as funny as watching the kid in kindergarten who steals the dodgeball, then can't understand why everyone went to the swings and won't play with him anymore

[–] 2 pts

Ditto, see my response below ... same concept.

Thank you! Haven't even logged into Voat since last outage and saw someone talking shit about me. That's just one reason why I like it over here. I still go there, but am burned out on jew/nigger/faggot/fattie on the front page all day every day. That's why I don't log in anymore. Nothing more to contribute there, just like I have nothing to contribute to Reddit.

I did give some advice to Putt in that thead as I've done several other times. I even encouraged him to just really say fuck it and shut it down relieving himself of the burden.

I'll be honest with you too, man. There's a time when I lumped you in with folks like Sane and Henry. Just another downer shill who was there to sow discord. I apologize for my mistaken assessment. But most of Voat will never come to that realization and attempt to look at things logically. Most users can't be bothered to look past the current post they're reading, or be bothered to recall conversations from months prior. Shit man, most of the users can't even remember a time when Voat was actually a comfy place. I remember the times when the front page was covered by Cheers Songs, Moshi goofiness, Soapbox doing it's thing without drama, and a few smatterings of political blah blah mixed in. It's bad now, for all the exact reasons Reddit is so bad, just on the opposite side of the spectrum.

I've deleted all my Voat bookmarks, and will never return. I invite you to do the same. As much as I hate niggers and jews and faggots, the constant hatred is simply not healthy.

[–] 1 pt

Wow really? You lumped me with them?!?! Wow, that is kind of shocking to me. I didn't even post or comment much on Voat the last couple years except to try and keep the subs I ran alive (nsfw and jokes mostly). Wasn't until the big outage a couple months ago I started looking for alternatives, asking voaters where they go. That's how I found out about Poal and notabug. The initial response was really positive. People were eager to discuss backup sites.

Then voat when down the 2nd time and I started telling people that we are on a sinking ship. Man, nothing but hate.

Glad you changed your mind about me. I really don't post much at all on the "big" forums. Did on Voat in the old days and now here. Funny that I'm even getting called out over there as that one asshole who always knocks Voat?! Really? I just made less than probably 5 posts and less than 10 comments about it and now I'm the face of Voat hate? Weird world.....

I just want to go to sites that have truth, no matter how dirty or uncomfortable it is. And the people sharing it don't have a paid agenda. And we can talk about tech or cars or food or whatever.

Thanks for your reply. Validates my decision to transfer my subs and not login there anymore (except when I got called out today).
