I swear, all the witty people with a sense of humor have left. Everything is supposed to be ever so serious and making any kind of joke is just ignored at best, or downvoted. Small minded idiots just run amok there; I guess those are "builders"!

For some fagtarded reason I keep trying, but it's just hardly fun anymore there. It's getting to the point where I just feel openly hostile in every thread I participate in there now. Maybe it's just me, but I think that poal has made me expect better or something.

I should do a broader writeup about this.

A big part of Voat's problem is that they're dealing primarily with Reddit Refugees. Let me clarify. Reddit has plenty of cool people. Plenty of cool people quit Reddit because they don't like the vibe of the place.

In addition to the above two groups of people, Voat has become overwhelmed with people who would cheerfully use Reddit if they could, but they have impulse control problems that are so bad that they're unable to restrain their use of profanity, homoerotic humor and racist vitriol enough to move past Reddit's considerably tolerant censors.

These are the people that are mucking up Voat. You're dealing not only with the filth of their day-to-day personalities, but they live in morbid fear that if they let too many "normies" into Voat, then the normies are going to take over.

Which is exactly what would happen. On top of that these idiots have an inferiority complex, so if you have something going for you they hate you off the bat. Civility is a threat to them.

I think that the current situation suits us fine. Voat is an overflow tank from Reddit, and Poal is an overflow tank from the overflow tank.

judging by the overall attitude here i'd say we are the more levelheaded of the bunch. but i have only been here a day so only time will tell if this site suffers from the same idiocy that Voat does.
