They drive out contributors and content creators
that would explain the crap i received when i was aggressive in posting breaking news / unverified stories. if it was bullshit, it would be called out and die very quickly. Snipe a story from /rising and if it turns out to be true, it gets to the front page of voat before it reaches the front page of reddit (/r/the_donald) and i got called a shill for sniping the story. i may have done this for a few weeks, and had consistent front page posts during this time (atleast one, often 2 or 3, one time 4) and no one figured out i was sniping reddit stories.
They just assumed i was paying for every upvote i received or had hundreds of accounts just to vote it to the front. Truth was i just picked news stories that sounded like something vote would like, aka right wing and paint the left/democrats as evil as possible, and low and behold, vote upvotes it like no tomorrow. the crap was kinda thick and only stopped when i stopped submitting as often. voat often falls ranged about a day plus or minus with a current event being posted about, 4chan shit goes live the second it happens, reddit hears about it from 4chan from anyone who crossposts it. voat can be early or completely miss the party. lately they've missed it consistently.
