Imagine not having a polished mahogany dash cover, the absolute heathen.

Those commercials look silly... they don't even try to make you have a love affair with your car.

My first car was a 1969 firebird 350, racing green. I'd cut off a nut to have that car back.

Can get a decent one for 20k

I bought mine from a friend when I was 15 for $500 and did a restore. A few years ago I bought a place in New Hampshire with a big garage and was going to buy another and restore it but the IRS decided they liked the house and took it. Oh well

mine was a 78 nova. not a full-frame car, but still plenty of steel.

i think my front bumper took 3 hits and only suffered scratches. bump a car nowadays, and both will be in the shop for weeks.

Haha if not totaled! My sister had a 60 something dodge dart. She hit a guy going about 50 and put a small dent in the hood. I tried to bang it out for her, with a sledge hammer, and couldn't. THOSE were cars man!

yeah, i didn't check my blind spot once getting on the highway. hooked a minivan with my bumper. damn near ripped the bumper off this minivan that was going 20+mph more than me.

didn't even make a mark on my Nova.

i miss that car.

i put my actual first car on its roof before i got my learner's permit. so i count my 2nd car as my first.

was also rear-ended in my dad's early-80s mazda b2000 by a guy moving at 40mph+. smacked the crap outta my head on the back-glass. rear bumper was twisted. i drove it on back to work. had it been something built today, it would have been towed to the wrecking yard.

yeah, ALL surfaces were hard on cars back then. inside and out. seems like nowadays the only hard surface on a vehicle is the receiver hitch. now that fucker will leave a mark.
