I do remember my carefree childhood and adolescence when everything was well designed and working well. There was still warranty on products, but it was just a mere marketing gimmick, because anything I had never broke. I still have a clock from Seiko and a handheld videogame from Nintendo that I bought 30 years ago, and they are still working. I think the first to fuck up was Microsoft. My first computer never had problems. But when Windows 95 was introduced, it got worse with every update. After the fucking Microsoft it all went downhill with no more quality control.

Products still are well designed, you just don't get them at Wal-Mart and Harbor Freight.

I totally and utterly agree. I have some great stuff, that lasts forever, but I know how to repair and maintain it, so it lasts. I also don't use consumer crap. If normies buy it, it's crap.

This. Do your homework. I buy German and Japanese products whenever possible. Most, not all, IS stuff is trash.

Some things you can build better, like my watermaker that is self built.
