The guy who wrote the book, Herman Wouk, pulled a dirty trick on his readers. He made them sympathize with the mutineers, then in the courtroom, he shifted sympathy to the nutty captain and left them hanging. Bogart's performance was good, probably the best acting he ever did. Watching the movie always makes me hungry for strawberries.
