I've never understood why Carpenter picked Roddy Piper as the lead actor in this movie. The guy is a piece of wood. He can't act. It didn't destroy the movie, but it hurt it. There would have been so much more energy with a read actor in the lead.

Beg to differ. Piper's pit was the best physical acting ever. He ended Superflies career with a slammed coconut....
