want me to transfer it to me I believe I can do that and I'll wait for someone to claim it. I've been really enjoying the guitar posts. Despite the fact I don't know how to play but I really want to learn. You do in fact suck at being retired. Someday I hope to also suck at being retired. This weekend I am deploying a server to keep more regular local backups of the poals db. Right now I've got daily but I want to get it up to hourly. So I have this dell T610 thats been sitting in my office for 3 months or so its even got 24gb of ram! and dual procs. So I'm rolling it out and thats all its going to do for now. Okay I'm rambling the point is I could transfer the sub to a dummy account or my account. If you want me to free up your sub limit. Okay I better go do the canary before the day is out.
Syncing DB backups can be tricky - good luck! Are you going to cache and lock it - or just pull it down live?
And, I'm good for now - but I do really, really want a programming sub. Right now, I stick them in Geek, but I want that to not be about just programming. I figure a dedicated programming sub will work best.
I enjoy writing the guitar stuff. I learned how to schedule stuff and that makes it so much easier. Before, I was trying to time my writing and publishing it right after that. Now, I have the whole day to work on the next day's stuff. So, I'm a lot more prolific.
At the same time, I impose a rule. I can't submit content exclusively from my domain. In my head, that'd be spam! So, it means I have to submit stuff that's not from there. It works out well in my head and it means I have motivation to submit stuff.
I enjoy sharing the stuff and I love that folks are reading them. I got a strange email asking if I was interested in selling the rights to reprint them (and edit them a bit). I declined. It wasn't nearly enough money to make me interested. ;-)
It did stroke my ego, however.

Tonight's guitar thread starts soon. That eats a whole chunk of my time, but I'd be being dishonest if I said I didn't enjoy it.
Well congrats on the offer at least. Yeah I’m probably just going to pull it live hourly. Into new files each time keeping a monthish worth of copy’s. It’ll also be great for testing once I move and get my static I can actually host a preview site off my connection. Good luck with the new guitar thread I look forward to reading it. On a side note I realized if my company doesn’t close I have managed to accumulate a whole weeks paid time off. Perhaps I could come on out to your state and learn how to play! Honestly that’s mostly a dream as I couldn’t really take such a selfish vacation. It’s fun to think about though.
I wasn't kidding when I said you were welcome - but you're not gonna learn in a week. ;-)
Also, the thread was/is the one in the Education sub. My last effort was the SU-27 airplane construction documentary. My next will be a different style and we'll see where it goes. It's not a new guitar thread - it's a new Education thread. Poaler Bears Learn. I'm also seeking a less pretentious title - as I'm learning as well and folks will probably get the wrong impression.
