In the end of July, I go through a ritual where I child-proof my home. I have some old friends of mine that come spend a week, like clockwork, at the start of August. After that, the house is still child-proof.

If I leave it down and it gets broken, it is my fault. So, I'll let you know how things are shaping up as it gets closer.

Good to know. How’s the weather around that time I know you get a ton more snow than we do.

Warm, beautiful, comfortable - sometimes too hot. For my taste - I'm gonna guess we have different definitions of hot, it's 64 degrees, as of a few minutes ago. That's about ideal for me. I start to melt at 80. I'm inside at 90.

Which is funny, 'cause I used to live in the south and I've been all over the warmer climes, including deserts and equatorial islands.

But, my body has acclimated to the temps here.

People laugh at me when I tell them it's -30 in the winter. When they're 105 in the summer and I'm a breezy 75? That's when I do my laughing. You can always put more clothing on - but there's a limit to how much clothing you can take off and still be socially acceptable.

The last two weeks in August are great - if you want to see how blueberries are harvested. I'm usually busy those weeks (and the first one in September), but I don't have to actually do any of the work - I just do it 'cause I like it and I'm bored. If I have guests, I'll spend less time doing such.

I do enjoy 75 that’s about my ideal. My wife seems to like the 90s but she can keep them as far as I’m concerned. My kids would really get a kick out harvesting blue berries. I think we did that a few years ago one fall there are places you can go here and pick them yourself in the fall for a few dollars a bucket.
