"Nature red in tooth and claw" is what we are born into, but it is not us. It's true, there seems to be no kindness or empathy in the natural world, but there is kindness and empathy in us, and we are a part of the natural world. Unlike the lower animals, we are not limited by Nature, but can transcend it. We bring compassion into this material universe. That is the gift we bring to this world. That is why we are so special, so beautiful, so important. The light of God shines through your minds, and transforms savage Nature into something more gentle and more compassionate. That is why we are here, to bring compassion into the world. Those who are not able to understand this truth are limited human beings. The highest part of their natures is not yet fully developed, so they remain to a large degree lower animals. The savage natural world seems inevitable to them because it is all they can conceive or create. They are blind to the light of God within themselves. These are the atheists, the materialists, the secular humanists. They are stunted or damaged examples of the human species.
