Alrighty boys. Good lord. This movie was some fresh hot shit. I don't think I've seen a more garbage mafia movie and be so disappointed. I really enjoyed the Soprano series and this doesn't even tickle the nipple a single bit. I finally had the time to sit down have a beer or 5 and not even finish this pile of shit until later today.
So let's lay it out firstly that this is not a mafia movie. This is a White vs. Blacks movie 100%. I don't know how they can write an entire movie with no substance of any mafia livelihood presence. I don't know what fucking timeline they were writing this movie in. I looked up the directors and writers. Old as fuck and one is a jew once again. It's a senile woke written disaster. They had a great cast that ended up being some terrible performances. As always, Ray Liotta can play his character, Alessandro was great, Jon Bernthal is good but not a mafia role kind of guy. Vera Farmiga was the most disappointing. I usually love her roles and she is a good actress but I don't know how the directors messed up on so many actors acting? She felt so forced for her role, her accent is awful.
The forced racism is crazy. Like it is all that is on everyone's mind and of course, the blacks again are painted in the light of these widely good citizens. They start rioting because they think that a black man was killed by cops and I totally can see blacks watching this movie thinking, let them riot. They made the police seem sinister about defending riots. The army comes rolling in during the riots and they let Dickie go saying "He's white, let him through". The main blackie Harold walks through amazed and sad about what he sees. Then when he sees looters get shot, he's even more upset and pissed off staring at white people like it was their fault they started looting and burning? Was a pretty hilariously accurate display for low IQ citizens rioting not understanding their being criminals.
Tony Soprano's childhood story is not there. It is boring. Pretty sure I've done more badass things than this kid by his age. This kid was a nobody the whole movie. It was mostly about his uncle Dickie, which I know he was supposed to be most of the spotlight but even his character is whatever. I did like him the most but the writing... Dullness.
And my god they have these forced "Ow!" and "Oh!" that is so cringey. Terribly written. They probably could have these at better times but the writing is so god awful for the moments they included these.
But I expected a brutal childhood of him of growing up and seeing dark stuff, doing dark deeds and what not and no not at all he is just idling by while Dickie is swinging his jackhammer into BBC. The kid is like a boring fatboy star wars fan who doesn't play video games but loves candy. I don't see his build-up for who he is later on in life. He doesn't see anything dirty or bad really, just hears about it and is told to shut his yapper.
The Side character lady they bring in, Michela De Rossi, was okay. She's new to acting so she did well but I swear they used her because she looks like Penelope Cruz. I totally called her whoreness out but they make it apparent with Dickie's father. After she immediately jumped poles from Dickie's dad to him. I was like okay, she's sleeping with everyone then. And when the conversation came up with the black guy, Harold and her staring at each other, I said to myself "The only sex scene is going to be the black guy and her". 10 minutes later... I slapped my knee, I was right! Holy shit this wokeness can be called out without even watching movies these days. That's why I skipped the entire Han Solo movie.
3/10 is my score for this piece of shit. Just go watch Goodfellas or Godfather again. Better yet, the Soprano series to make this memory go away.
