One of the better films of recent years. The term subverting expectations has been used recently to justify/explain when a lead character of a popular franchise is changed to a different sex and/or race. But really it's nothing more than pushing the movie makers' agendas.
Clovehitch Killer OTOH is an actual example of the subversion of expectations, making it a relatively unique experience for movies coming out of Hollywood. What's more it's well written, well cast, and well made. All around an excellent film IMO.
