Summed up everything I thought about the film as well. I like long movies I feel I get a better experience with a three hour movie that has completed charter development and can tell a full story instead of being rushed but this thing ran out of content at an hour and a half in.
I watched this the other day. It has a gritty feel to it, particularly at the start. So gritty that it gets depressing. Batman never smiles. Bruce Wayne never smiles. They just go around looking haunted, or tormented, or tortured, or just gloomy. It's a gloomy movie. Obviously the producer wanted to capitalize on the success of the Joker movie, and he want for the same look and feel.
Then nigger catwoman comes into the picture, and the general aura changed from dark to trite. It's the same old bullshit yet again, a black woman who somehow is able to defeat men three times her size. She's a crook with a heart of gold. How many niggers do you know with genuine compassion? Not slobby sentimentality, but actually compassion for others? I don't know any.
The Riddler, on the other hand, was interesting. They couldn't go with the comic book Riddler who is too silly fo a major villain, so they made him insane and tormented, sort of like ... the Joker. It was funny seeing Riddler and Joker become best buds for life in the Arkham Insane Asylum. Both are batshit crazy. I guess the Riddler will be useful to have around if the Joker ever runs into one of those Sudoku puzzles he can't solve.
I found the plot of this movie to be rambling. It just seemed to go on and on. One after another person is killed by the Riddler -- people we've never met and therefore don't care about, for reasons we don't know. Then the Riddler is finally caught, and we think to ourselves, "Finally, this turkey is ready to come out of the oven." But no, the movies keeps going on for another hour! This fucking thing is almost three hours long! There's enough plot and character here for a movie that is around an hour and a half long, and it goes on for three hours!
The Batmobile, I guess I have to comment on it. Yes, it's boring and a bit silly. It's just a sports car with bullet-proof windows. Sure, flame comes out its ass, but it doesn't do anything that ordinary cars can't do, so what good is it? Batman could save himself money by taking taxis.
Batman is your typical weak white male. Fortunately, when he is about to die, he is saved by black power-girl Catwoman. Yes, she saves his life. Poor old Batman, how did he survive so long without her?
The politicians of Gotham are all crooked, except for one black woman, who is going to get elected as mayor and save the city from itself. I had to laugh. We've all seen what really happens when black women get elected mayors of major cities. Things go to shit, and they are finally arrested for stealing the city's budget and buying luxury homes. Yet it is the white men of Gotham who are the crime problem, not the niggers. God forbid we should ever get a movie that accurately reflect reality, and shows the niggers as the crooks and drug addicts who make cities impossible to live in. I guess everyone in Hollywood would explode if that ever happened.
This wasn't a terrible movie, but it was depressing, unexciting and too, tooo, toooo long by at least a full hour. Catwoman might as well not have been there -- she added nothing to the movie except blackness. The take on the Penguin was interesting. He was presented as a hardened street criminal. I sort of liked this realistic presentation. Batman has no social life in this movie. All he does is brood. He's more like the Punisher than billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne.
Watch it as long as you can. When you lose interest, you can turn it off and not worry about missing anything. In the end, Gotham floods like New Orleans. A few people get wet pants. Not even this would have happened if they had the sense to stay out of a sports arena that was built half underground. I'm going to go over and read what the Critical Drinker thought of the movie. I bet his thoughts are not too different from mine.
