Does anyone consider that we continue to have the "highest grossing film of all time" because the price of cinema tickets continue to rise as the value of money continues to fall?
Same rule to maybe consider when people talk about "oh my god the budget for this film was $500 million!!!" How does that compare to the older films when you adjust for the devaluation of the dollar?
(I don't want to use "inflation" because I think that conflates the real meaning behind what's happened to the currency)
