Just thought I'd talk about a trailer I saw for a black power movie called the woman King
The film is (((based on a true story))) which means fuck all these days as we are well aware if you've ever read up on other (((true stories))) like hidden figures or the Netflix film when they see us. There are many more but I digress.
I haven't seen the movie but judging by the trailer I already can guess that it's going to be complete fabrication.
The film is based upon the dahomey amazon's, a female "warrior tribe" who fought of colonialist white men....need I say more?
What they won't tell you.... The dahomey were a slave owing tribe and often fought with neighbouring tribes to defend and expand their trade.
The dahomey amazon's were not the successful warriors that the movie trailer makes out, in a battle with the French, the dahomey were beaten very quickly and lost over 500 of their soldiers all in hand to hand combat, the French lost 6 men...... And it was over within hours
