I just finished watching Prey thirty seconds ago. It's the latest in the Predator franchise. What can I say about it, other than more of the same. No, that is not correct. It is less of the same.
The movie is set in the early part of the 18th century, centering around a tribe of Comanche living in the undefiled wilderness of the great American West. A young girl of the tribe doesn't want to do womanly things, she wants to be a hunter like the young men. Where have we seen this before? Oh yeah, in every fucking movie for the past two decades. Young woman doesn't want to be a woman, she wants to be a man. We see it over and over and over. And because this is Hollywood, she is as good as any of the young male hunters, and maybe better.
The entire first half of this slow-moving movie is about this girl trying to prove herself as a hunter and repeatedly failing. Then the predator makes his invisible appearance and starts to kill members of her tribe. She quite sensibly runs away, right into the arms of a large party of French fur trappers.
Here's where we get our main dose of "wokeness." All of the Frenchmen are evil, and I mean cartoon evil, except one. The Indian tribe, by contrast, is made up of saints. I mean it, their lives are so pristine and pure and perfect, it's enough to make you puke. But here come the evil whites, killing all the buffalo (even though the slaughter of the buffalo didn't being until decades later). Get it? Perfect, saintly Indians, and evil, nasty, bad white men.
The French trappers capture the girl, but the predator comes and she escapes. The rest of the movie is her running away from the predator, who kills various members of her tribe and all the French. One of the fleeing French trappers is captured by the young girl and tortured by her. Why? Becase every fucking movie out of Hollywood has to have a torture scene in it. There must be some kind of secret law about this, because torture scenes are in every action movie made ever since 9-11, When George W. Bush decided that it was A-OK for Americans to torture Arabs and Persians. Now the "good guys" torture in every movie, for "good reasons" of course. Such as, they really enjoy torturing people. That's where we are as a culture.
This Indian girl and her warrior brother fight the predator, and for some unexplained reason are able to defeat it together, although it kills the girl's brother. She carries the predator's severed head back to the camp to show to her people, and they make her their warrior-leader. I'm not kidding. The chance of an Indian tribe making a woman their leader is zero, but that's what happens in this "woke" piece of shit.
There are so many dumb-as-fuck scenes in this movie, I can't count them all. Where the dying Frenchman who isn't evil tells the Indian girl how to load and prime a flintlock is one of them. She's never held a gun in her hand, or even seen one, but she can load and prime it based on his ten second verbal description of how it is done. Dumb-fuckery. Then there is her "secret seapon" -- an ax with a rope tied to the handle, which she throws and then jerks back to throw again. Idiotic. The ax would never fly through the air with that rope attached to it. It would get tangled in the rope as it was spinning. There are a bunch of other stupid scenes, but I won't mention them.
This is definitely the weakest of the Predator franchise movies, by far. Nothing happens for the first half of the movie. We follow this girl with a chubby neck around as she tries to prove she is a man, and then at around the 45 minute mark or so, the predator starts to show up and kills people.
Oh, but I can't resist mentioning one item. She tells her fellow warriors, "If it bleeds, we can kill it." Shades of the Schwartz-nigger. It made me cringe to hear it.
For all the killing the predator does in this move, he is oddly unimpressive. They tried to make him more primitive than the predators in earlier movies, since he appears in an earlier historic period, but he still lands in a space ship and has an invisibility cloak. So how primitive can he be?
The two worst things about this turkey are (a) the perfect, saintly Indian tribe, and (b) the universally evil, vulgar and ugly white trappers. I am so fucking sick of this "woke" bullshit! Every movie, it's the same load of excrement, over and over and over.
Watch this if you want to, and if you can stay awake through the first half, but if you miss it, you haven't missed anything.
