The critical drinker hits it on the money. But this is not the only reason modern movies suck. Another reason is their lack of interesting plots or believable characters you can relate to. I can't even count the number of recent movies I've watched where I didn't like any of the characters, not even a little bit. I mean, I disliked everyone in the fucking movies. How can you enjoy a movie when you dislike every single character? As for the plots, I can watch a movie and in five minutes tell you exactly what is going to happen, because the plots used are cookie cutter clones with no surprise and no depth. They boor the socks off me.
