With all I’ve heard about it, the film is so incoherent and schizophrenic in its failure to stick to either narrative or its feminist themes that it probably has enough material to re-edit as a straight up male empowerment film.

Remove the opening abortion themes, or don’t, perhaps, to make the point more obvious about how ideologically evil Barbie is, then showcase the oppressive matriarchy of Barbie world.

OG Barbie decides to leave because she’s busy “finding herself,” and Ken encounters “the patriarchy” before deciding to bring it back with him. As a result, the Barbies love being submissive and obedient to the Kens, now that their self-centered “leader” has left.

And that’s it. Roll credits.
