I'll change the thumbnails behavior site wide later. I don't know why the album thumbnails (on the front page) don't open their album expando, it works fine in all the browser's I tried. Try to browse /all/new in a private tab (unlogged) and find an album thumbnail. Try to click on it, and if it still doesn't work, check the console of your browser for errors and let me know about it.
