Danoff and Nivert do have writing credits for the song. That being said, their version is better. It has more from the heart feeling to it. They're also good live performers, something almost no modern groups have. I feel like I should be putting a dime into the Seeburg Wall Box down at the L&K on Friday with their stuff.
