This is one of those really slow songs with meaningful lyrics, that takes so long to say anything, by the end of a sentence you forget what the start was about. Another is the "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." Slow, slow, slow lyric. A pause after every word. I remember once starting to listen to it during the Cambrian Period, but giving up on it in the Jurassic before the song was half finished. "The ............. first ..... time ...............ever .....I .......saw .....................your .................face ........." You can literally sit and watch the mountains being eroded away by wind while this song is playing. And Bread's song "If" is not much better. People who get their poetry and philosophy from pop songs need to read more books.
