Waaaay back in the gold rush days, when SF was a wild west town, a bunch of rich faggots got together and divided up the area so their businesses get the run of certain areas in perpetuity. Fast forward 100+ years and you have a metropolitan city with several transportation companies and none of them fucking working together. You can't get on the subway and easily get to the light rail. You can't get on the light rail and get dropped near a bus station. All of them are fucking with each other all these generations later. The people in control of the city, the politicians and the CEOs are still stubborn assholes that refuse to give in to their competitors to make the lives of their customers easier. Throw in a fuckton of corruption of CEOs and every politician and that causes even more problems but hey, for one twelth of the year they hang out the faggot flag and pretend to give a fuck about people during the sodomy parade.
