I spent a huge amount of time at the beginning of this mess trying to replicate n95 masks cheaply with more avl materials.
Well. Me and about a hundred other morons.
A n95 mask works great because it has a three layer system and the middle layer is designed to rub against the other two and maintain a static electric charge.
That's the whole magic of it.
In short, it is an amazing design.
But the downfall is when that middle layer gets moist the static electric charge fails.
So working in a controlled environment like an ICU is a great environment, plus the surgical mask, plus other sanitation procedures, plus Ms 13 or higher filters installed in the theater.
But for the usual jackass on the street breathing thru it for a month at a time, saturated with oil from skin... Wet from breath vapor and or walking around working... An N95 mask is a petri dish of failure.
And you're just another engine that shouldn't be in the medical field in the first place. I thought Patel's were supposed to stay put in hotels and 7/11.
