The FDA didn't directly tell them, they just signaled the talking point through a tweet so suing CNN wouldn't lead to much of a discovery about the talking point itself.

Sure I can. It was a public statement from the FDA on their verified social media platform and they included an article which CNN sources.
Now where the conspiracy to smear Joe Rogan could and probably did come from was from Jeff Zucker, the head of CNN.
Once a CNN release an article these media companies use the original piece as a source and don't even look any further than that. It's all tabloid circle jerk.
Unless you went to discovery and found out all communication between CNN and the FDA concerning Ivermectin and alternative covid treatments, you have no clue if your assumptions are right.
But hey, protect the FDA all you want if that's what you like to do.
