Yes and No, if the parents are fundamentalist Christians then they should be told to fuck off with their useless Creationist nonsense, but nobody expected the schools to devolve into Marxist indoctrination camps with daily struggle sessions either. Pragmatically teachers have all been Left wing since the 60's, but it's only in the last decade they have felt they could get away with pushng their opinions. This is counter to what teaching should be about, you teach critical thinking, not idealogical dogma. I don't recall any of this political stuff from my days, so I guess we must have stuck to classical literature and maths, both apparently racist now?
