His argument was that he decided due to his advanced age, etc, it was worth the risk for him personally. I don't agree, but that was his choice.
Now he is warning people who have no risk of cold/flu complications that it isn't worth the risk to them. It's not an entirely unreasonable position. For instance my friend had his arm amputated for good reasons, but he will still tell people not to pre-emptively amputate their limbs if there isn't a good reason to do so.
As part of the whole "right to try" debate, you should be able to choose a risky treatment if you want to. Whether that's Ivermectin or the Clot Shot, you should be able to make your own choices regarding your health.
