I've explained my reasoning in the other comments. As I've said before. Show me where I'm wrong.
Have you ever been in a fight? Making a split second decision like you are saying and making it look natural is impossible. He saw it coming and knew he fucked up. He thought he was going to take a body shot so he dropped his left. I didn't watch the fight, but I assume Paul was working the body a fair amount just by watching that.
NOTHING here looks fake to me. It's just two guys who are good, not great, boxers and have a lot of power.
And if you were going to take a dive, would you really allow yourself to be knocked unconscious? No.
He thought he was going to take a body shot so he dropped his left.
At least two of you guys are saying this. Where do you get this idea that you drop your fucking hands to block a body shot? Show me any pro boxer or boxing coach who teaches this and I will show you a fraud.
You block body shots with your elbows. You don't drop your hands for body shots, because if it's a feint, then you won't be able to get your hand back up in time to block, say, an overhand right.
This absolutely wasn't a fucking dive, though. It was an error on Woodley's part. The movement from his left hand indicated a parry towards what he believed would be a straight right down the middle, not a looping overhand. And the way the punch landed- with the knuckles of the right finger and pinky- would normally take a lot of the power away from the shot. You can see Jake's wrist rotate as he makes contact. But Woodley wasn't expecting this punch, and Jake really loaded up into it- hence the brutal, 1 minute long unconsciousness.
Woodley doesn't need to take a dive by getting viciously KO'ed. He has money. He's already making millions just for fighting Jake. No fighter with money already would willingly allow severe brain damage to make a dive look convincing.
You block body shots with your elbows.
Exactly. Woodley is a decent boxer in the grand scheme, but shit as a professional. This just shows the difference in pros vs amateur boxers imo. He's good at MMA, but he's always been a shit striker.
Lol yes I've been in a fight. But a street fight is different than a boxing fight. Extremely different.
If you saw the replay then tell me why Jake rotated his hand twice before the knock out. He had not done that before during the fight. It looks like a clear tell for Tyron to drop his hand.
I know this is a moment where it looks like I've gone full retard because I rarely buy into fixes and conspiracy theories. But this looks too predetermined given the optics of the fight, those involved, and the continued money to be made.
