The FAA and FCC couldn't work this out in advance?

What the fuck do these people do all day? Fill out TPS reports?

I think I just answered my own question.

Legally it is cut and dry. The aviation community has been granted these frequencies and have long established use. Telecom now wants to use these frequencies. They can so long as they can prove non-interference. As they have apparently been proved to interfere, this means telcom's licenses to these frequencies are revoked. Especially from a safety perspective.

Under established rulings, telecom isn't allowed to use these frequencies. If they continue to do so after notification they are to be fined per day. They now legally accept full financial liability for any crash caused by flight into terrain in which they operate on these frequencies and radar altimeters are equipped.

The working out part simply means telcom's licenses are revoked.

So the telecom companies just decided to say fuck it? The FCC should pull their licenses. We would be better off without cell phones for a few weeks. Nation might heal itself.
