Interesting, I find a kindred spirit in this. I was raised and taught that spitting on someone is one of the worst possible things they can do to you.
I could take a slap in the face and laugh it off. But if you spit on me, we're fighting, and I'm going to do my best to really hurt you. I don't lose my temper and act out physically, normally I have a pretty even temperament; but if I am spit on, I "see red". Almost to the point where it's like... someone needs to die, now.
The side of my family from the Slavic region are the ones who instilled this in me. I've always wondered if this visceral reaction I have to being spit on, or seeing someone spit on, is a result of conditioning from my family (older cousins, uncles and such), or if it's a cultural thing. I doubt any culture looks upon being spit on as a good thing (except for the Freman of Dune), but some may take it more seriously and thus respond more violently than others.
I've done door work. Dealt with plenty of retarded drunks, saying and doing really annoying, stupid shit as I haul them out of the building and tell them to fuck off. But I only ever fought once, when I was spit on after tossing a drunk faggot. Gave him a little shove onto the sidewalk, and he turned and said "Fuck you bitch" and spit on me. Next thing I know, I'm inside the office being spoken to by management and later police. I had a nasty cut on my right knuckle, a fight bite. You should see the other guy...
Anyone else get this? Or is there some other disrespectful gesture/action that puts this kind of blind fury in you? Like maybe... maybe some culture out there can't stand being mooned and it sends them into a berserk rage? Please let this be a thing, I'd love to hear about this kind of stuff, it's fascinating.
I'm strictly an equal opportunity ass stomper. A push or cussing is about all anyone can expect to get away with. Beyond that, I consider everything else an invite to maul them. Back in the day, I knew of no one in the HAMC that would even let a shove or cuss-out slide....I was considered "too easygoing".
I agree and surprised someone feels the same way I do on this topic. Shamefully I have watched an adult video or two but when the spitting starts. I’m done. Cannot stand it.
I went on a first date with a lovely young being, she spat like a baseball player but was sweet and nice. Noped my way out. Politely of course.
Asians spit a lot, it might be a survival thing? Cannot stand it!
However, I might be a weirdo I don’t spit when I brush my teeth. I cannot stand my own spitting. I bend down clear my mouth and rinse from the faucet. I could be a freak, I hate spitting that much.
Agree. I was taught never to spit in public because it's not ladylike. I carried tissues and would run to the nearest restroom or outside away from people if I needed to spit.
