There are only a dozen or so states that don't allow you to use deadly force in self-defense and force you to retreat even if faced with deadly force. While it's true that you can "stand your ground" when attacked in your own home, a different set of laws apply, such as those governing the use of deadly force pertaining to highly defensible property. I don't know of a single state that expects you to retreat inside your home when faced with deadly force, therefore "stand your ground" isn't at issue. Calling this a "stand your ground" case is an attempt to throw shade at a perfectly reasonable and lawful exercise of deadly force in self defense. It attempts to make this act of self-defense sound controversial when it isn't in the least. When someone forcibly breaks into your home you have the right to use deadly force in pretty much any state.
