That's a very telling story.
I know exactly what you mean. I have a relative who has alzheimers & parkinsons. I got involved in this person's care and only after a couple of years did I discover the doctors are incompetent. I know know more about this disease than any of them - but only after extensive research. You want to know why there isn't a cure? Because it's caused by diet, insulin resistance and an easily managed genetic defect. There is no magic pill that they can charge you hundreds of thousands of dollars for. Instead you spend a ton of money on unnecessary tests that do nothing. The meds they do give you are worthless. It's a f*king racket. Disgraceful.
Drawing similar conclusion. Modern GP medicine is like Tier One help desks. They're trained to diagnose and the there's a practice-sanctioned playbook of do-this-for-that. Product selection to avoid interactions is about the only latitude they have, definitely none for adding to the list of possible treatments for fear of blowback from the AMA. They are just low-level agents of the pharma machine.
