If you haven't tried every other option first, it could be seen as murder if someone were to die. It just depends. I know that killing in self defense is not a sin. Being a soldier is not a sin. Murder is however. It's a gray area, I am not 100% educated enough to speak on from a theocratic stand point.

I do. What if you accidentally hit someone else though? That happens. Don't fire a gun unless you intend to kill that which in front of you. Period.
