That aside, I'm not sure why they cancelled it, given that they supposedly control the narrative. Either they do or they don't. If they controlled it. they wouldn't give a damn what a few thousand petitioners say.

those who control the narrative push out this garbage (media corps, for example). The masses may revolt in their meager ways, causing the show to be "canceled". Which just means "postponed until a later date"
I see what you're saying. So they push something crazy, pretend that the people have a say or voice, then either quietly allow it back again or just push it over and over until the people accept it as the new normal?
exactly. Just look at stuff like cuties on netflax
it got removed after a time, but the tv show Big Mouth is "acceptable". It wouldn't have passed 5-10 years ago, but now it is considered normal.
