Edward Lake, 49, was found dead on June 20, seven years after his three children were killed after a drunk driver slammed into their grandparents car

The drunk driver, Marco Muzzo, is the heir to a billion dollar construction empire and served just four years before being released on parole

At the time of his sentencing, Edward told the court that he suffered with suicidal thoughts following the deaths of his children

On Father's Day, Lake's wife, Jennifer Neville-Lake posted a photo of her children's tombstones and said: 'Father's day. This shouldn't be real. It can't be'

Before her husband's suicide, she told a parole board hearing for Muzzo that she had attempted to take her own life in the wake of the crash

Imagine not taking revenge and just suiciding. Idiot.

[–] 16 pts

No shit. Go out with a bang and make that fucker pay.

[–] 13 pts

This. If you are suicidal and not interested in starting another family, WHAT KIND OF FUCKING LOSER shoots him self instead of hunting the perp?

[–] 12 pts

Can get a lot done before you off yourself. Avenge your children's deaths.

[–] 5 pts

You have to be very motivated to plan and execute something like that.

Most suicidal people are just too depressed to do anything at all other than feeling pity for themselves.

[–] 4 pts

That's what ssri's are for.

[–] 8 pts

It isn't so simple. The world would look very different today, if we could put the terminally ill and suicidal people to good use.

[–] 0 pt

Ikr ? May as well take the drunk fuck face with you

[–] 9 pts

Even if the accident could have been avoided, poor kids were still doomed with a short Beetus life.

And with genes from a loser like that faggot, they all would have committed suicide eventually. If all of our ancestors folded in the face of grand tragedies like this, none of us would be here.

The pair of you are absolving the pizzajew and it's owner jews of guilt because the family were fat? That's quite insane.

If all of our ancestors folded in the face of grand tragedies like this, none of us would be here.

That was quite often the sole reason fro suicides in history you speak. This isn't just a Grand Tragedy. This is a personally Grand Tragedy a scope of which few in history have gone through and many - even those of "our" ancestors - dealt with in similar ways. Suicide was RARELY a thing then absolutely. This was one of the things that would cause suicide.

accident

Really? Fucking really?

This wasn't an accident. This was a pizzajew's triple-murder that was only sentenced to 10 years.

Stop being an idiot, you're being idiotic because you're being emotional, it was an accident, marco muzzo killed himself in 2020

If he had no morality whatsoever he would still be alive

An accident that would probably not have happened if he were'nt 3x legal drunk limit. Are you sure? I can't find anything on his death. Appears he's living in a mansion near the crash site with his wife.

and rich and probably driving drunk. He should kill himself

I feel like they're trying to play up, like, he's a billionaire or whatever. Like, that's exactly what I don't care about. The victims are what's important. Unless you're arguing that the perp got a lighter for sentence for some reason, whereas TFA says they actually handed down the longest sentence for such an offense ever.

But I guess that the perp would be the only reason to care about this case in particular (in a tabloid from a whole different country) as opposed to every other similar one ever, so you lead with it.

Put yourself in that man's shoes along with the rest of the extended family: An adult child of a billionaire family who's been spoiled more than any common American can imagine, basically got away with killing THREE children (and possibly their grandparents) - not one child, not two kids. BUT ALL THREE OF YOUR CHILDREN. You've spent your life savings on lawyers to fight this case - and possibly life savings of some of your extended family members - yet it'll NEVER COME CLOSE TO THE LEGAL POWER OF A BILLIONAIRE FAMILY. AND no matter how heartfelt AND heart wrenching your sob story is, it doesn't compare to the power of the almighty dollar, which the billionaire family obviously had to sway the court & judge's opinion in this case - which also led to the suicide of the father who knew he was fucked no matter how hard he tried to plead his case - And justice was BARELY served. Everything about this story is completely fucked up.

I followed this story closely when it happened several years ago. Muzzo has already been released from jail, btw.

Let's not forget that Muzzo had just come back from his bachelor party in Florida after getting shitfaced, kept drunk on the private jet ride back to Ontario, then drove his sports car somewhere after leaving the airport to have a few more drinks, and THEN blew past the stop sign on his way home. This wasn't like a rare hidden stop sign accident. He had so many opportunities to say "shit I'm pretty drunk, maybe I should call the family limo to take me home this time". Instead he said "fuck it, I do what I want cause daddy is rich and powerful".

His lawyers managed to get pre-sentence jail time counted as 1.5x days served. This is common already in the U.S. but Canada started shifting away from this habit many years ago, instead counting a day for a day. The case was delayed for some time, allowing him to serve that higher rate longer than normal, i.e. a benefit that most Canadians don't get.

His family then pleaded to keep the sentence small, reminding the judge and the community that their family construction business routinely donates a lot of money to local organizations. The resulting sentence, combined with his pre-time-served, and whatever other deals that must have been made behind closed doors, allowed him to be released after just a few years.

ALSO, the victim father who off'd himself was tazed by police just one day earlier due to an "altercation", despite the officers already having been informed of the guy's family history. Funny how that detail is missing from the daily mail's report. https://globalnews.ca/news/8941076/edward-lake-tasered-arrested-before-death-by-suicide/

TFA left a lot of that out -- you're right.

So, how much time does a normal guy serve for murdering a few people in a DD accident? In some US states, you can be charged with murder for that. The article didn't make a good case for why this would be a justice issue. Probably b/c Daily Mail

[–] 1 pt

Yeah it is. No way he could even get close to the billionaire to avenge the death, you lost your genetic line, yeah, it's understandable.

His wife was still alive though, now alone.

You've spent your life savings on lawyers to fight this case - and possibly life savings of some of your extended family members - yet it'll NEVER COME CLOSE TO THE LEGAL POWER OF A BILLIONAIRE FAMILY.

Why would you? It's the government's job to prosecute the criminal case, which they did. The victim family only has to file a civil suit if they want to. Which I'm guessing would be settled for more money than they spent pursuing it, but I didn't get that either way from TFA

[–] 1 pt

It's a distraction from the constant murder of Whites by niggers, probably.

[–] 1 pt

I knew a guy that got life for killing a guy while DUI.

Imagine killing four and getting off on parole.

Being rich is a helluva super power. Well, I hope this murdering fucker burns in hell. What a dumb motherfucker.

[–] 1 pt

I'm not saying you can avoid every car accident, but how often is it the dad driving in one of these tragic stories? It seems like it's always the mom, or grandma, granddad, some neighbor, etc.

[–] 1 pt

You’re right. The grandma was driving. This is why we don’t let anyone watch our kids let alone drive around with them. I wouldn’t expect this to happen with my husband driving but anyone else, maybe. Usually no one is more careful with a kid than their own parents. And I don’t trust women driving anyway. This story is sad but could’ve easily been avoided.

... a joint $15-million donation from the De Gasperis and Muzzo families in 2017 to help build the new Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. Their donation came at the same time that Marco Muzzo was in jail following the 2015 crash.

Ah thank you! I knew a deal had been brewing to get Marco out earlier than normal, that was it.

Lesson learned: when you are rich, the law becomes a menu and offenses are just expensive forms of entertainment that you can order from it.

hence Hunter Biden, basically flat out ignored by the justice system

is anyone even tracking who bought his shitty paintings for millions?

They don't look like his kids tbh

I just lost my only child, my young daughter, to an accident because someone else made a dumb mistake. You guys have no idea how life-crushing and mentally and spiritually destructive this loss is. It's nothing like the death of an elder or a friend. This is my flesh and blood, who said "peek-boo daddy" with intense giggles, who sat in my lap and learned to draw, who woke me up and reminded me to eat breakfast. She should still be with me but isn't, and this will always be true. She barely learned to enjoy life and she was loving it, then death came for her. My wife and I are suddenly empty nesters with a huge lifestyle change and wrecked hearts. Nothing is worth doing. It took us IVF to get this child, and now we're back to that again. What a grind, and it's all but hopeless as she ages. You think this guy made an irrational decision. Let me explain something... killing the perp is WORTH NOTHING to him. Why? Because literally everything is worth nothing to him. Money, sex, power, wine, revenge, everything. It's all worthless. The only thing this guy wants is a time machine to get his kids back and that's impossible. He's Job. He's under the sun in Ecclesiastes. Killself is entirely logical and almost mandatory when you really get down to it. There is no easy answer or better outcome. There is no better. Everything is the same. We all end up the same anyway. You have all shown yourselves to be naive.

Hunt Muzzo down first..dayum.

I would never advocate violence, but if I were in his shoes is fine meaning in trying to get justice for the lives of my children.
