I'm old enough to remember a time when the FAA required pilots to get EKG's because if you had a heart condition, it was grounds for disqualification and having your commercial license pulled. You couldn't be a commercial pilot because it would be a major safety hazard.

Oh how the times have "suddenly" changed. Now apparently you can qualify for a permanent pacemaker AND still fly commercial airliners. So we've got that going for us.
