I haven't been following this, but I did read the book that he was pushing when Trump was running in 2016.

Scott clearly resents affirmative action, since (as mentioned in his book) it greatly hindered him several times in his pre-Dilbert career. Only when he started working for himself did he have the opportunity to advance in life.

He is a smart guy but has probably not spent much time around the average black, so he may not be fully red-pilled.

He's just one man, with a limited perspective. Don't expect him to be perfect, and don't see any of his flaws as proof that he secretly serves the jews.

He is and was exceptionally bitter about the fact he "got the vaccine wrong" and that "no one could've known that it was a bad idea"

But besides that obvious lapse in logical thinking, your 3rd sentence is likely accurate. Chances are, he's extremely limited in who he communicates with, and echo-chambers himself in certain areas of the internet rather than actually discoursing with those of opposing opinions.

It's not heroic to realize any of this he's going through. He's still been incredibly rash and resistant to either side. He's literally the fool card of the tarot, so to speak
